Unnakaya is a Malabar delicacy. Served as an teatime snack. It’s very easy to make.

First of all, we will steam bananas, till it become soft. Remove skin and seeds inside .

Next we will mash the bananas well. When cool enough to handle, let’s make a dough with the bananas.

Heat pan, add 1 1/2 teaspoon ghee and roast broken cashew nuts and raisins. And keep it aside.

Add grated coconut and sugar and saute for two minutes.

In a bowl, mix cashew nuts, Raisins and coconut mix. It is the filling.

Make medium ball from the banana dough, you could greace plan with ghee.

Flatten the ball, insert a teaspoon coconut filling, seal all the endings and make it to cylinder shape and endings with narrow ends

Heat oil, and fry it in medium heat till all side get brown colour.
