First, sieve together all-purpose flour and salt. This helps to combine them evenly.

In lukewarm water (around 40°C), dissolve the sugar completely. Then add active dry yeast and stir. Keep this mixture in a warm place for a few minutes.

If the yeast is active, a thick foam will form on the surface. If no foam appears, discard the mixture and start over with fresh yeast.

Once the yeast is activated, add it gradually to the flour. Also add softened butter, and begin mixing everything to form a dough.

The dough will initially be sticky. You can dust your hands with a little more flour as needed while kneading.

Grease another bowl lightly with olive oil. Place the dough inside and roll it around so the entire surface is coated with oil. Alternatively, you can brush oil over the top if needed.

Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and leave it in a warm place to rise. This usually takes around 2 hours, or until the dough doubles in size.

Once risen, punch down the dough and knead it briefly again. Divide it into two equal balls and let them rest for another hour.

Your pizza dough is now ready. This quantity is perfect for making two medium-sized pizzas. Use your favorite toppings and sauces for baking.
