Thakkali Thokku is a relish from South India . Thokku made with different vegetables, Often people confused with Thokku and Pickle. But both are same.

First of all, slice tomatoes into pieces and make smooth juice without water in a blender.

In a pan heat Gingelly Oil, and add Mustard seeds. When it start to spurts, add Fenugreek seeds and Curry leaves. Saute for a minute

Add Asafoetida and mix well.

Now add Tomato Puree and Tamarind Juice mix well.

Add enough salt

We now add some Chilly powder. We add both Normal chilly powder and Kashmiri Chilly powder to give good colour

If you want some sweet, just add a teaspoon of Jaggery or Sugar.

Now we will stir continuously till the oil start to separate. We evaporate water content maximum so that we could keep it for long time

If oil started to appear . We could switch the flame off and let to cool down.

You could keep it in an Air tight container in refrigerator up to 10 days

Best with Dosa, Idly , Appam or Rice
