Ingredients
  • 2 cup Whole Wheat flour
  • 2 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1 cup Jaggery
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder (optional)
  • Salt as required
  • Rectangular Banana Leves

    To make Ottada or Wheat Ada , first of all we have to prepare the banana leaf, rectangular banana leaf should be burned little to make it flexible, else it will break.

    Just show the banana leaf over flame for a second , thats enough.

    In bowl Add Wheat flour, salt, Cumin seeds, Cardamom powder and mix well.

    Add enough water to make a thick paste. Its the base

    For the filling, mix grated Coconut and Jaggery together. Mix well.

    Take a lemon size batter, on the banana leaf, flatten the dough with hand in a circle

    Take some coconut filling and spread half of the ada.

    Fold the leaf in to half.

    Heat a pan, Put the ad on it. Let it roast both side.

    Ottada or Wheat ada is ready
